A letter to smokers
This post is not meant to be disrespecting to smokers, I realize you have the right to smoke, and if you’re not worried about your health, then neither am I. I also realize that cigarettes are addictive, and we all know I have my own addiction I’m fighting.
However, I do have a few questions for you…1. I’m sure you realize that most non-smokers do not want to be around your smoking. But do you care? I feel like as long as you see an ash tray, you’ll light up. We don’t like the smell, and we certainly don’t like that we’re breathing in your harmful second hand smoke. Do you care that you are also affecting other people’s health when you light up? Also, did you know that when your smoking in your car with your windows down that the smoke gets into MY car and I still can smell it?
2. Why do you throw your cigarette butts anywhere? I realize it’s a pain to wait for a trash can, but that’s what I do when I have litter to get rid of. Just the same as I would NEVER spit my gum out on a sidewalk, I would appreciate if you would wait for the proper receptacle to dispose of your butts. There’s nothing that upsets me more than when I see someone throw a cigarette butt out of a car window. So disrespectful!
3. Do you know that you really smell bad when you get back from a smoke break? I mean, you smell like outside smoky sweat funk. It’s pretty gross. So all I ask is that you consider spraying yourself with a little perfume or cologne before returning to your desk at work.
These are just a few requests that I (and I’m sure many other non-smokers) would make. If only one person reads this and decides to make a few changes, I would be appreciative!

I have a friend who smokes. I used to frankly tell him her breath smells bad after smoking; thus the reason why he would often have mint candies in his pocket now.
) Aside from that, he would not smoke when he’s with us ’cause he know we hate the smell.

Wow, once again I am blown away by how much you and I havew in common! Cigarette butt litter is and has been a personal nemesis of mine for AGES! Everytime I see someone flick a cigarette butt on the ground, a part of me dies inside. The other part wishes I was good at street fighting so that I could inflict some serious pain on these clowns.

I get a kick of the smokers that stand right outside a building exit. Hello ass clowns you might as well smoke inside you morons.
