  • Colonial Williamsburg

This past weekend Ash and I visited Colonial Williamsburg. Let me start this off by saying it was an awesome weekend. There are more pancake and waffle house per square foot than you could imagine. It was insane when we would drive the strip looking for vittles it was pancakes and waffles. We found a 5 guys nuff said.

Friday night we took the "Ghosts Among Us" tour in down town Williamsburg. All the dwellings were pre civil war. It was cool they took us to some really old houses, told us ghost stories and tales of haunted villages and such. Wasn't too scary but too watch the actors tell the stories was cool.

Saturday we went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. It was cool seeing some real oddities from around the world. We also took in a 4-D show about dinosaurs and creatures from the deep. It was awesome right up until the water started squirting everywhere. The next venture in a our day was to visit downtown Williamsburg in the day time. This was a great time the only thing that made it not o great was it was Home Coming at William and Mary. So it was crowded with alumni from years past. I thought I did see a guy who was on one of the paintings that we saw on our Ghost Among Us tour. Saturday night was movie night. We saw Law Abiding Citizen. now I get turned off when parents take there kids to the movies unless it is a kids flick. Well let me tell you. If you have to shield your 5 year olds eyes throughout half the movie you need to leave. This poor little girl had to endure about 7 murders, a rape, an implied kiddie rape, and countless F-bombs. Did the parents get up and leave? Nope they kept their maps buried in their nachos. This upset my dear wife. Now we went to a place called the Movie Tavern. Like the slogan said the movies never tasted so good. Order better that movie food and a waitress brings it to you. Awesome I hope there is one near me were I live.

Sunday Busch Gardens. rides, haunted houses, games, rides and this the LochNess Monster. The video has been edited but after two pretzels and a bladder buster it didn't feel that great. I recommend the Dark Castle. We must have did 4 laps around the park. At that point we were pooped. We went home and passed out.

  • Quick Note From Ashley

I saw this pic, and had to re-post.  For some reason, I'm obsessed with it.  Who would make a gigantic Hello
    Kitty bag????

  • My weekend..

Sorry it has been a few days since my last entry. On Friday night my wife and I met some friends that were in town from Seattle Washington. Ash and Elizabeth used to work together back home. They were in town looking to buy a house in the area. Elizabeth's husband has been reassigned. We went to Carlyle Grand in Shirlington. The Carlyle is part of the Great american Restaurant Group. ( Sweetwater, Coastal Flats ). Well let me say this I have been to four of them in the group. The Carlyle is by far the best. All four of us walked away like wow that was awesome. good night hanging out with some good people. Who while in town closed on a house congrats to Chris and Elizabeth. See you soon.

My wife and I went away Saturday and Sunday to historic Richmond VA. It was a good time. I was really surprised how much the area we stayed in reminded me of home. It was nice. If you are ever in the area I recommend the pancakes at the Berkeley Hotel and the food at Richbrau both located on E.Cary St. The pancakes at the Berkeley were killer. Now while we where in Richmond we attended season five's So You Think You Can Dance tour. We are loyal followers, we watch it, we see it live, but this year I think we left a tiny bit disappointed. Although the routines we great, the dancing was crisp, they only did the routines you saw on TV. In years passed the tour introduced new routines and that was fun to be vowed by something you never seen. And speaking of wow. Phillip Chebeeb's solo was phenomenal. The crowd has gotten a bit creepier. There was the guy sitting in front of us who had binoculars. One would say what is the big deal. Well he only used them when certain people were performing. The audience is no longer screaming teenagers.

  • Childhood Memories

Sorry it took so long to get back at you. My day job has decided to keep me busy. How dare they? Don't they know I have a Blog to maintain? AS IF.

Well as rack my brain there are boatloads of memories I can put in here. I am gonna share a few.

1.Growing up there was this guy in the neighborhood named Phil. He drove a mint green pick up truck. He used to drive up the street and all the kids would light up because we knew it was ice cream time. About 20 of us would hop into the bed of his pick up truck and off we go. That type of stuff don't happen these days. If I did that in my neighborhood. There would be at least a dozen phone calls to the local sheriff's office and I would be flogged.

    2. Kick the can, Relievio, Man hunt, Flashio Relive. You name it, if there was a game I played it and I excelled. I could, run, hide, climb, sneak and just plain vanish. I was a 5 tool player.

    3. My summer vacations. With the exception of the Summer of 81 in North Dakota. Snuff and Gail would load up the beachwagon and take us to the Elms in Manchester NH. This place holds a special place in my heart. Not only was it an awesome resort with everything to do, but I was born there in June of 1970. Still can't figure out why mom was on vacation while 8 months pregnant with me. The place had everything a kid could want and my family was treated like royalty. Vacations were never the same after the main house burned down. My most fondest memory of it was there was a rumor that Big Foot was seen in the heavily wooded area behind the softball field. So what did I do. I did what any other 9 year old did I went looking for him. I still haven't found him.

    4. From about 10 to 14 was a tough time for me. Neighborhood kids made fun of me at a record clip. I was your typical kid growing up played until the sun went down and didn't bathe. I remember one time after I showered I got out and my mother said go back in and take the other layer off. I was constantly heckled. I got the "Choppa stink like a goat choppa look like a pig." There was one girl who did it the most. I remember seeing her a few years back begging for spare change because she was a crack whore. Talk about turn around. I also had a brother who poked fun at me a lot as well. Needless to say these days he showers as much as. He don't he is gross.

  • Pet Peeves

Here you go my second installment. Trying to hold down the fort as wifey deals with work. I want to talk about my pet peeves. We all have them. Stuff that just drives us bonkers!!!! I have a few or about 10. I would love to hear back from you about what makes you cringe.

    1. Smokers who stand right outside the exits when they smoke. Dude just go inside the lobby, the crap wreaks from two blocks away. I am baffled to as why there aren't signs posted in front of buildings or more places don't have designated spots.

    2. People who get on elevators and press a button that is already lit up. Get a life donkey. He must think after he hits the button the elevator will magically get to the 12th floor quicker because he touched the button.

    3. People who over use or hell use buzzwords period. I hate them. The one I hate the most is grass roots. What in God's name does that mean. I have a co-worker that must have a mini guide with every buzzword known in it. He sends out an email at least 45% of the email is a buzzword. Lets level set this, and counter act that, lets double back and populate the circumvention of the lateral movements. GIVE ME A BREAK. Thank god he is on leave for two months. I think he went on leave because he ran out of buzzwords.

    4. People who press the walk signal button at traffic lights and don't wait for the light to change. Oh do they get an earful. I need to discuss this no further.

    5. People who tell you I will call you right back and don't. What is the proper time frame for right back? I think its 20 to 30 minutes.

    6. The WWE divas. They take up too much time on tv. I know I must be in the minority here, but I have Zero Craving for something that looks like a flotation device.

Well that is all for now. I will be back soon with some childhood memories.

  • A little about me! (read the entry below first)

Well as per the previous blog and directive form Label Lover 81 (my wife) I am the guest blogger. I am her husband. Let me start by saying this it is pretty cool to see first hand what goes on in her life and to be witness to her day to day affairs. I would say that when it comes to labels I am the polar opposite. (except Ralph) I don't understand the fuss. So in regards to Marc Jacobs, Prada, David Yurman, Juicy, Jimmy Choo, Ferragamo, and whomever else my wife is chasing I couldn't care less about those labels. But my wife loves them and in turn I love them.

I am from Boston. I now live in suburban VA. Talk about down shifting. It has been an adjustment but it is now what I call home. The pace of traffic is different, back home everyone is in a hurry, down here it is all about the slow country drive. That translates into being constantly late for work. Oh well. There isn't much not to like here. The area is cleaner, the air is nicer, the weather is better, the people are friendlier, crime isn't as bad, it is a real stress free environment. I can't complain about that.  Well thats all for now. I will keep in touch as my Label Lover is really busy with work. I hope I can entertain and dazzle half as good as she does.

Tune into next time I will be discussing my pet peeves and the slow pokes that drive a Toyota Prius'
