So unfortunately, since reading the "Twilight" series, I've begun this love affrair with YA supernatural series, and vampires in general. I used to watch Buffy back in high school, but it was never about the vamps, it was mostly about her wardrobe.
Now I've moved on to other things. Like I said, Twilight started it, but I've also been reading these series:The Vampire Diaries (which started off ok, but the third book SUCKED, probably won't read the fourth because I could stand to finish the third)
Not to mention there are many others that I'm sure I'll start to read before this faze of my life ends. Plus, I'm obsessed with "True Blood". It's the only series on TV I'm watching regularly right now. Partly because there's nothing else on, and partly because it's SO DARN GOOD!
Some bad news - Today Isaac announced he doesn't like coconut. So I'll have to find different cupcakes to make for him

So make them for Owen, and make Issac other kinds
Let’s talk about some of the songs you’ve been listening to recently. Today’s selection was Vanilla Ice. I’m not sure there’s really anything I can say about that. However, I am willing to believe he probably does have some decent stuff. There must have been a reason he was popular back in the day.
Tues 8/25 – Jai Ho by the Pussycat Dolls. I love this song. I mentioned to an Indian friend that I liked the PCD version of Jai Ho, and she was slightly taken aback and offended. She explained that A. R. Rahman is like the Mozart of India, and so I understand that she might not like when some scantily-clad pop singers (and let’s be honest only Nicole is a singer, the rest are just back-up dancers) remix the song. But I feel like PCD’s version is great and just makes the song more accessible.
Sat 8/22 – A Little More Personal (Raw) by Lindsey Lohan. If I’m willing to give Vanilla Ice the benefit of the doubt, I’m willing to give it to LiLo too. Plus I love cheesy pop music. But what throws me is the title of this song. It just seems too expected for her to have a song with such a title. I still hope she’ll get her act together and make a comeback. In People magazine, they had a poll of who should step into Jane Fonda’s shoes and play Barbarella. Megan Fox won – gross! I think LiLo would be much better. What do you think?
PS. Too bad about the coconut. I’m sure you’ll come up with something else equally as cute.
Silly Woman! A Little More Personal (Raw) is the name of the album. "Edge of Seventeen" was a song by the great Stevie Nicks, Lindsay remade it. It's the only remake of the song that I think is almost as good as the original.
Vanilla Ice because I was reading an article about the top 25 worst songs of all time, and that was number 12, so I got it stuck in my head.
Jai Ho because I saw a repeat of Ellen that day and PCD was on singing that song. As for your friend who was offended that PCD did a remake, I heard Nicole on the Today Show saying awhile back she sat down with the OG Jai Ho dude and he helped her re-write the song in english. So if he doesn't have a problem with them singing it, maybe she shouldn't either?
Make sense now?
It's ok that you're reading YA vampire books. Every once in awhile, I curl up with a good Judy Blume.
